Crafted from cutting-edge moulded Polystyrene Composite, these panels boast durability and eco-friendliness, comprising 90% recycled polystyrene and 10% virgin materials, including styrene-butadiene rubber, for a sustainable solution that stands the test of time. Embrace the beauty of natural wood with Trepanel Aqua®’s lifelike wood effect design, with a warm, light brown oak shade and a soft-to-touch matt finish, adding both comfort and style to your space. With their waterproof properties and lightweight build, they can be easily installed in damp and wet interiors like bathrooms or kitchens when installed following the Trepanel Aqua® Guide.
Fixing Guide
For use in bathrooms, your space will need tanking before installation. We recommend using the Mapei Shower Waterproofing Kit. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for this.
Once you have fully tanked the area you wish to install the panels onto, you can fix the panels directly onto the waterproofed surface following our Trepanel Aqua® Guide. For an easy fix, we recommend the Mapei Super Grip Panel Adhesive. Some surfaces will require the panels to be fixed with screws.
Be sure to seal any holes from installation to maintain waterproof integrity.
Please note: To avoid discolouration, do not use Trepanel Aqua® in direct sunlight. These waterproof panels are also not suitable for use close to heat sources above 50 degrees, e.g. hobs or fireplaces.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning and Maintenance
To clean your Trepanel Aqua®, we simply recommend a damp cloth. Do not use any harsh or abrasive materials, as these may scratch the surface.

How to Install Wood Panels
Q & A
Hi Deb The panels can be glued straight over existing tiles. It is important to check all tiles are fully adhered to the wall and none and are loose or cracked. Kind Regards Walls and Floors
Hi Roseanne, Yes, they can go straight over existing tiles. 1. Clean the Surface: Ensure the tiles are clean and free of any grease, dirt, or debris. This helps the adhesive bond properly. 2. Check for Flatness: Verify that the tile surface is even. If there are any uneven areas or damaged tiles, they should be repaired or leveled before installation. 3. Use Appropriate Adhesive: Select a high-quality adhesive suitable for both polystyrene and tiles. Construction adhesive or panel adhesive often works well. 4. Apply Adhesive: Apply the adhesive to the back of the panels according to the manufacturer’s instructions, typically in a zigzag or dot pattern for even distribution. 5. Position the Panels: Press the polystyrene panels firmly onto the tiled surface, ensuring they are properly aligned and level. 6. Secure the Panels: If needed, use temporary supports or clamps to hold the panels in place until the adhesive sets. 7. Seal the Edges: Use caulk or sealant around the edges and joints to ensure a watertight seal. It’s always a good idea to consult the installation guidelines provided by the manufacturer of the polystyrene composite panels, as they may have specific recommendations or requirements for adhering the panels over tiled surfaces. Kind Regards, Walls and Floors.
Hi Ed, Thank you for your query. We recommend using Mapei Ultracare Smooth Silicone for the best finish on the grooved edges. Simply spray the silicone with the solution and use your finger to take off any excess, this will leave you with a smooth finish. Kind Regards, Walls and Floors.
Hi There, The edge will be white, so you will need to use a black silicone sealant to cover this. Kind Regards, Walls and Floors.

Hi Julie, Yes, these are waterproof, they are made from a Polystyrene Composite. However, if they are being used in an area which comes into direct contact with water, we recommend tanking the area beforehand. If you have any questions, please call us on 01536 314730. Kind regards, Walls and Floors
