Description

A unique and increasingly popular contemporary multi-coloured, rustic natural slate mosaic, Ledgestone Splitface Mosaic Tiles are made of pieces of shaded natural slate, of different sizes and thicknesses. These pieces are bonded together to produce a highly modern textural, undulating form, which can be used in both interior and exterior schemes.

Due to the nature of these natural slate split face tiles, we do not recommend them for use in shower areas or areas that receive direct water to the surface.

Sealing and maintenance

Natural stone is porous so we recommend sealing your fantastic new tiles with LTP Mattstone Sealer. To intensify the colour of your tiles, we recommend LTP Colour intensifier. To keep your tiles looking fresh and new, we'd suggest applying LTP Stonewash.

Using around a wood burner

Lots of our customers have used these tiles around a wood burner with great feedback! If you're going to do this, we recommend using a heat resistant adhesive such as Palace Heat Resistant Tile Adhesive.

Price was best online by some way. Service was great-speedy delivery and well packaged. Yes the product is fragile-it’s layers of slate in small sections!! But broken tiles can simply be affixed like whole ones. Cuts are easy with angle grinder but some layers of slate came off-again you can stick these back it. If it wasn’t for the lowest price I would have given four stars but these were great value. Lovely looking product- lots of tones and textures. Product was made in India so real Indian slate. Looks amazing when wet - I had hoped the LTP Mattstone sealer would leave a wet look but it did not. I will try Lithofin colour intensifier next. But i probably should not have been so tight and just got the Universeal Sealant Ultra Wet look but at >£50 a litre I chickened out. Now it’s going to cost me more! Would recommend and we ordered the right amount and didn’t over order or come up short becuase of breakages. Cuts can be stuck in like a mosaic to avoid waste.

The tiles are nice quality slate. The colour is lovely. Out of 70 tiles, one was broken in the box. They were easy to work with and cut. Cheaper than what I could find elsewhere. Very pleased with the overall effect for our fire place. Delivery was not as good,( hence not 5 stars). A mistake was made and they didn’t turn up on the day as requested which was annoying but not the end of the world. But they did the following week after contacting customer support online which was very easy to use and helpful. Would I buy from again. Certainly.

Used these for the back of a log burner fire box. They look amazing once sealed. As they fit in a brick pattern they need to be trimmed on the sides. They were a pain to cut to size without the whole tile separating but they can still be stuck on so not a massive issue unless you're running out of time with the adhesive!! Definitely recommend sealing them as it will bring out a much deeper colour. Highly recommended.
