It’s a trend that’s taking the renovation world by storm, with fancy colours and seasonal wreathes, designing a unique and fun front door is more popular than ever. Whether you give your door a lick of paint or completely transform the area surrounding it, we have front door ideas to ensure you find the right design. Your front door is the first point your guests see, so it should reflect your individuality, like your home does!
Decorate with Seasonal Wreaths
We love the look of decorative wreaths hanging on doors, and it seems a lot of others do too, with it becoming a big trend! Wreaths aren’t reserved for Christmas anymore, with seasonal wreaths becoming incredibly popular. With vibrant floral wreaths taking pride of place in the summer, and autumnal shades of orange and brown adorning our doors in the autumn, there’s a wreath for every occasion! And if there isn’t, get crafty and make one! There’s an array of workshops and tutorials for wreath making, so get stuck in and make one of a kind.
Create a Walkway to your Masterpiece
If you’re planning on putting tones of effort into the way your front door looks, surely it deserves it’s own runway? Choose from a variety of fun outdoor floor tiles to create a patio that leads directly to your front door, like we have with our Cava Victorian Green Quarry Tiles. These tiles create a beautiful Victorian aesthetic outside this house, a timeless look that will never go out of style. You can choose tiles that enhance the aesthetic of your front door, making sure you’re not taking any of the glory away from the main event.
Match the Exterior of your Door to the Interior
If you’ve decided to splash some colour onto the exterior of your door to revive it, try carrying the theme on into the entryway of your home for a cohesive look. We’ve painted our door a vibrant navy blue, which brings it back to life, but have also continued this shade into the entryway and hallway through the use of our wall and floor tiles. We’ve used our Ledbury Marina Blue Pattern Tiles across the floors, and paired them with our Bond Street Gloss Blue Mini Metro Tiles. This gives a complete look packed with character and originality.
Add Accessories to your Front Door Space
There’s a whole range of outdoor décor pieces out there, and they can be perfect for dressing your door up. Create symmetry like we have with a couple of plant pots on either side of your door, or light up the area with rows of outdoor lights leading to the door. Sprucing up the way your front door is accessorised gives a taster to how well decorated your interiors are!
Dress the Interior Space Surrounding your Door
If painting your door or replacing it completely isn’t an option, there’s still ways of making it look brand new. Give your door a really good scrub down to clean it up and get it shining. Now you can replace the pieces that surround your door, whether you’re refreshing the interior or exterior. We’ve added some potted plants and an old bar cart to this space, giving it some extra depth and character. Consider what pieces of décor you could surround your front door with to make it more of a feature.
Use Natural Foliage that Surrounds your Door
Many of us have natural plants and bushes growing on our doorstep, yet cut them away or let them die. Use these to your advantage. They’re an easy way of dressing your front door space but don’t require a lot of effort. If you have plants that grow long and windy surrounding your door, place them where you’d like them to wrap around the space like in this example. If you have bushes growing around the area, just give them an occasional trim to keep them in order and ensure they don’t get too unruly, resulting in a naturally decorated front door space.
Carry the Aesthetic Through to the Interior
If you’ve put all this effort into the exterior of your front door, you’re guests will be disappointed if when they enter the interior doesn’t represent the masterpiece they’ve just seen. To prevent this from happening, ensure you carry the same luxury into the interior of your home. We’ve created a beautifully sophisticated space in this hallway, to reflect the front door’s classy aesthetic.
Use a Splash of Paint
If buying a new door is out of reach for you but you’re desperate for a splash of vibrant colour, there’s always the opportunity to paint your door. We have a selection of beautiful shades of paint on offer that are suitable for use on your front door. Pick your favourite shade and add a lick of paint to the interior/exterior of your door, or even both! Check out our selection of paints!
